Free · Multi-currency · Exact arithmetic
A money manager that does the arithmetic exactly
A free expense tracker built for rupees. Lakh and crore grouping, UPI-friendly categories, multi-currency, and it keeps working when your connection drops. Every feature, no upsell.
No card, no trial. Export everything whenever you want.
Net worth
₹12,84,630.75
+₹38,200.00 this month
Amounts are formatted for your locale
Amounts are grouped in lakh and crore and shown with the rupee symbol, because your locale is en-IN.
- ₹1,234.50
- ₹98,765.40
- ₹1,23,45,678.90
We format only at the display step. The stored value stays an exact decimal, never a floating-point number, which is why the totals agree with the rows.
What it does
Everything a ledger needs
Six features. Each one was finished before the next one started.
Where you are
Built for how money works in India
₹, lakh and crore, done properly
₹12,34,567.89 groups the way you write it, because the formatting comes from your locale rather than a hard-coded template.
Built for UPI-era spending
Dozens of small payments a day is the normal shape of an Indian ledger. Quick-add logs one in a single line, and the virtualized list stays fast past 10,000 rows.
Loans between people, with a real balance
Money lent to a cousin and money borrowed from a friend both get a running balance, part-payments and interest records, instead of a note in a chat thread.
The one rule
Totals that agree with the rows
You trust a money app when its totals agree with the rows above them. That is the one rule everything else is built around.
Exact decimals, never floats
Amounts are decimal from the database column to the last step before display. 0.1 + 0.2 is 0.3 here, which is not true of the arithmetic most apps use.
Checked against known answers
Balances, period statistics, budget scoping and month-end date handling are verified against fixture datasets carrying the figures they must produce.
Conversion that admits a gap
An account whose exchange rate is missing contributes zero and says so, instead of quietly falling back to 1:1 and inflating your net worth.
Common questions
- Is Chillar's free?
- Yes. Chillar's is free to use. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires, and no feature withheld behind an upgrade prompt.
- How does Chillar's make money?
- Advertising. Ads pay for the servers, which is what keeps every feature available on a single free tier. Chillar's does not sell your financial data and does not share it with data brokers.
- Will Chillar's start charging later?
- There are no plans to. Chillar's is funded by advertising rather than subscriptions, and a full JSON export is always one click away if that ever changes.
- Is my financial data private?
- Yes. Every row is isolated at the database level with row-level security, so a query can only ever return your own data. Chillar's sells nothing to third parties, never uses your transactions to target the ads it shows, and never sees your banking credentials because it has no bank connection.
- Does Chillar's connect to my bank?
- No. Chillar's has no bank or card integration. You add transactions yourself, import a CSV, or import a backup file. Nothing reads your bank account, so no banking credential is ever stored.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. A full JSON export contains every row Chillar's holds for you and can be imported back, so it works as a real backup. Any filtered view also exports to CSV, XLSX or PDF.
