What the service is

Chillar's is a personal record-keeping tool. It stores figures you enter and computes totals from them. It is provided free of charge and without warranty of any kind.

Your responsibilities

The accuracy of your records is yours. Chillar's performs arithmetic on what you enter; it cannot verify that what you entered matches reality.

Your way in is the account you sign in with — Google, GitHub or Facebook. We hold no password of yours and cannot reset one, so keeping that account secure and reachable is what keeps your records reachable. If you lose access to it, use the export below rather than relying on us to restore it.

Keep your own backups. The JSON export exists for this. Run it now and then, as you would for any data you would be upset to lose.

Do not use the service to store data you are not entitled to hold, or in a way that interferes with its availability for others.

Availability

The service is offered as-is with no uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable for maintenance, may change, and may be discontinued. Because everything exports in one file at any time, discontinuation does not have to mean losing your data.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project and its contributors are not liable for any loss arising from use of the service, including financial decisions made on the basis of figures it displays.

Advertising

The service is funded by advertising. Ads are shown alongside the app; the transactions, balances and categories you enter are never used to select them and are never shared with an advertiser.
